The MIU at Herts and Essex Hospital is open Monday to Friday from 9am - 4.30pm.
Video consultations are not offered at our Cheshunt MIU.
Why we use video consultations
Video consulations mean you can get help and advice without travelling to an MIU. This means you can wait to be seen in the comfort and safety of your own home.
We can advise you if your injury is best managed at home or if you need to come in for treatment - therefore saving a wasted journey.

To arrange a video consultation call the Herts and Essex MIU directly on 01279 827450
Please leave your telephone number and a message saying you would like to book a video consultation. Our reception team will call you back to arrange an appointment.

- You will be taken quickly through a few steps to make sure your equipment is set up correctly
- Next you will be asked to:
- Enter your full name, date of birth and telephone number
- Accept the terms and conditions.
Once these steps have been followed, click on the 'Start Call' button:
- You will enter the waiting room until your appointment starts
- The waiting room is private and you will not see other patients. You will just see yourself on the video and hear music
- When your appoinment starts, your image will move to the corner of the screen and you will see your clinician
The video call is free (except your internet usage charge) and data is not used whilst you are in the waiting room.
