Children's asthma and wheeze service

  • We support children aged 2 to 16 years with asthma or wheeze to achieve the best possible control of their condition, helping them lead healthy, active lives while reducing the risk of asthma attacks and complications.

We bring together specialist community and hospital-based respiratory nurses to provide expert, evidence-based care that is centred around the needs of each child and family.

Working in partnership with families, schools, GPs and other healthcare professionals, we provide education, advice and support to help children and young people self-manage their condition with confidence.

Following referral, children can access specialist assessment, personalised asthma action plans, medication reviews, inhaler technique support and, where needed, diagnostic testing to help optimise their respiratory health and wellbeing.
