Specialist Community Public Health Nursing Programme events

SCPHN invite

Are you a registered nurse or a midwife looking for a change of direction?

If yes, come along to our open evenings to find out more about Public Health Nursing and becoming a Health Visitor or a School Nurse in Hertfordshire.

Thursday 7 March 2024, 6pm - 8pm
The Becc Family Centre, Furzehill Road, Borehamwood, Herts, WD6 2FD

Wednesday 13 March 2024, 6pm - 8pm
Howard Court, Tewin Road, Welwyn Garden City, AL7 1BW

These open evenings are an ideal opportunity for you to meet the Hertfordshire Community NHS Trust (HCT) education and quality team as well as our University partner representatives and ask any questions you may have about the programme. You will also meet our current Specialist Community Public Health Nursing (SCPHN) students, practice assessors as well as our own Health Visitors and School Nurses.

You are welcome to pop by any point between 6 and 8pm at a time that suits you.  A brief presentation about the programme will be held at 7pm. We look forward to sharing with you what it is like to work at HCT and share with you our enthusiasm and passion for the SCPHN programme, as well as our commitment to our students’ success!

If you are newly qualified or interested in working as a band 5 nurse in our Public Health Nursing Teams, please use this opportunity to come along to find out more.

The course starts at the beginning of September 2024 and we will be accepting applications for Specialist Community Public Health Nursing (SCPHN) training from 4 March 2024.

Applicants must have six months minimum work experience.

Please contact Kat Oxley (kathryn.oxley@nhs.net) if you would like to attend one of these events or if you have any questions.
