Festival-goers at Herts Pride 2026 were able to get health advice and check they were up to date on their vaccinations at Hertfordshire Community NHS Trust's stand this weekend.
Proud to be Network members, staff wellbeing team and nurses from our East of England Community and School-Aged Immunisation Service helped staff our stand at Herts Pride in Cassiobury Park, Watford on Saturday (22 August 2026).
Throughout the day they provided valuable health advice, supported wellbeing discussions, offered blood pressure checks and shared information about vaccination services, helping to promote healthier communities and increase awareness of the support available from the trust.
Among the festival-goers who popped by the stand and took advantage of our services was Hertfordshire County Council Chairman Sandy Walkington. Cllr Walkington had his blood pressure checked by our friendly nurse Tracy Westly.
Herts Pride is a one-day festival, which aims to bring people of all ages, faiths, genders and sexualities together to celebrate the local LGBTQ+ community.
Vinnie Gavin, Chair of Proud to Be Network who organised the stand said: "We were delighted to spend the day engaging with members of the local community, colleagues and partner organisations, having positive conversations about health, wellbeing and support available across Hertfordshire.
"The event was a wonderful opportunity to meet new people, strengthen existing relationships and engage with individuals who may benefit from our services. We were encouraged by the level of interest shown in both the work of our staff networks and the healthcare services available across the trust.
"A huge thank you to everyone who volunteered their time, attended the event and helped make the day such a success. Your enthusiasm, energy and commitment made a real difference and helped create a welcoming and inclusive atmosphere throughout the day."
