HCT recognised by Employers for Carers benchmarking scheme
HCT has been recognised as a Carer Confident Employer (Level 1), under Carers UK's Employers for Carers benchmarking scheme.
The charity Carers UK, gave very positive feedback on the application submitted, and highlighted the strength of the supporting evidence as high quality and comprehensive.
HCT's staff carers network was invaluable in sharing reflections which informed the Trust's submission.
The Trust recognises there is more to be done to recognise and support working carers in HCT but this accreditation is a step in the right direction.
The Trust has been recognised at Level 1 which is registered as an 'Active' status, the next level of attainment is 'Accomplished', and the third level is 'Ambassador' level.
The Carer Confident benchmarking scheme assists employers to build a supportive and inclusive workplace for staff who are, or will become, carers and to make the most of their skills and experience.
