Chief Executive Elliot Howard-Jones named as one of the top 50 NHS CEOs by the HSJ

Our Chief Executive Elliot Howard-Jones has been named as one of the top 50 CEOs across NHS provider organisations nationally. He was placed 17th out of 50 top leaders in the prestigious Health Service Journal (HSJ) ranking of top NHS Chief Executives in England - now in its ninth year with the 2023 theme focusing on change. Twenty-four of the names in the top 50 are new in comparison to those listed last year, although some have appeared in the rankings during previous years.

Judges are asked to choose the top 50 based on the performance of the organisation run by the CEO, their contribution to the wider healthcare system, and the personal example they set to peers and employees. The focus was on their likely impact during the next 12 months, although past performance was taken into account.

When asked for his reaction to this our CEO Elliot Howard-Jones said: “This is recognition for the work we have been doing in HCT for some time – we are finding new ways to support people at home, through prevention of admission and working with the ambulance service to reduce transfers to hospitals. Our children’s services have been working tirelessly to improve children's access to and outcomes from the services we run. We are also proud of the work we have done around diversity and inclusion, particularly our ground breaking Shadow Board. This innovative attitude to services and the care we show each other and our patients demonstrates why people like working within HCT.”
