About the Service

Notice regarding the service during Covid-19:

During the Coronavirus outbreak the Tissue Viability Service is still fully functioning.

We are accepting referrals as usual and they are being triaged within 2 working days. Where possible remote support is being offered via telephone or video consultation.

Where needed a visit will be made in the patients usual place of care with their usual nurse.

 

 

This service offers specialist clinical advice and support in complex wound management for patients in east and north Hertfordshire. For patients in west Hertfordshire, a similar service is provided by Central London Community Healthcare NHS Trust.

Further activity includes monitoring and management of the community service wound care products, providing expert knowledge of current treatments available and the use of advanced wound treatments.

Tissue Viability is about the maintenance of skin integrity, specialising in the management of patients with acute and chronic wounds and the prevention and management of pressure damage. We have substantial experience of wound dressings and therapies.
