A new project to help promote and encourage donations to Hertfordshire Community NHS Trust’s charity is launching this week – and creative input from members of the public is needed.
HCT NHS Charity, which has been set up to support projects promoting the health and wellbeing of staff, patients and visitors to the trust, is installing innovative contactless payment points at trust-owned facilities and hospitals. The aim is that the points will make donating easier, quicker, and more interactive, and will also be a beautiful piece of community art.
Charity Chair Rukshana Kapasi said: “We need your help to create a lasting piece of community art, which not only brings joy and colour to our facilities but hopefully helps raise vital funds for patients and support services.
“If you or someone you know has been cared for by the trust and you want an innovative way to show your appreciation, then this is the perfect way to say thank you.
“Alternatively, you might be a budding artist, keen to leave your mark and help bring attention to an important local cause.
“Whatever your reasons, please do get creative, get involved, and help us create wall art that brings colour, community, and compassion together!”
Design entries must submitted by Friday 3 October 2025 to hct.charity@nhs.net. A design competition form can be downloaded or picked up from any trust reception.
All entries will be reviewed by a panel of judges and the winning entries announced at the end of October.
The winners will:
• Have their artwork featured on one of our new wall installations.
• Receive a special prize as a thank you for their creativity and support.
• Be celebrated at our unveiling event, with their name proudly recognised in the community.
Entries can be groupwork or individual and must be able to print in large format.
