Exercise has many health benefits and physical activity should be encouraged for all children. It is particularly important in helping to manage long term health conditions. Activities should be fun and motivating for the child and can include a variety of things including participating in sports, physical education, riding a bike or going for a fast walk.  For information on how much activity your child should be doing, please take a look at the activity guidelines below.

Many activities should be inclusive for all children, but we know for some children with disabilities there may be barriers to accessing sport and participating in different activities. The following links may be useful in finding an inclusive sport or activity which interests your child.
