Sensory training

Understanding your child’s sensory preferences:

Our ‘Understanding your Child’s Sensory Preferences’ workshop is for parents and carers who live in Hertfordshire/have a Hertfordshire GP and would like to know more about their child’s sensory development. The workshop aims to increase understanding of sensory processing and differences and how to support children to engage in daily tasks. It offers practical advice and strategies that you can try at home with your child.

This session introduces the topic of sensory processing for parents and carers. The workshop provides initial information and advice for families who are worried about their child’s sensory development.

School Open Forum Virtual Advice sessions Flyer

Our Schools Open Forum Virtual Advice sessions occur once per half term and are for teachers, assistants, and special educational needs coordinators (SENCOs) who would like some sensory advice and support for those children who experience sensory differences impacting on their participation in learning/everyday school activities.

These sessions are run as an open forum, where school staff can come along to discuss areas of sensory concerns with a member of the sensory team who will provide advice and support that you can implement in your setting.  This is also an opportunity to hear other schools questions and queries and for schools to share ideas of what has worked for them.

Due to the nature of the forums, children and young people will not be referred to by their names.
