The HSJ Value Awards recognise excellent use of NHS resources. These awards are given to NHS trusts who have been able to show improvements in outcomes, not just for those who use NHS services, but also across its administrative functions.
Earlier this year Hertfordshire Community NHS Trust submitted a number of entries competing against hundreds of other UK health organisations for these awards. HCT has been advised that two of its entries have now been shortlisted as finalists.
Community Health Service Redesign Award: Therapy Redesign within the Community Adults Health Service (CAHS)
A transformational project to help improve access to occupational therapy and physiotherapy services whilst operating within a reduced financial envelope.
Specialist Service Award: Positive Behaviour, Autism, Learning Disability and Mental Health Service (PALMS)
An initiative which addressed an increase in demand for PALMS’ services, while providing high quality interventions to support more families and children with autism, learning disability and mental health issues.
Clare Hawkins, CEO for Hertfordshire Community NHS Trust congratulated the successful, shortlisted teams, saying: ”Everyone at HCT is incredibly proud at the news that both the CAHS and PALMS initiatives have been selected as possible finalists for these prestigious awards. To get to this stage of the selection process is no small feat and recognises the positive outcomes that our teams have achieved in the services they offer across the Hertfordshire community. We all hope for success after the final stage of the award process.”
The final round of judging will take place in April where shortlisted organisations will present their projects to a panel of experts and NHS leaders.
A full list of all those trusts hoping to get these coveted awards is here. Winners will be announced on May 23rd in Manchester Central, Manchester.
