Hertfordshire Community NHS Trust (HCT) has teamed up with Hertfordshire Independent Living Service (HILS) who provide a range of services including meals on wheels, to help people stay independent, healthy, and happy in their homes.
HCT provides community-based health services for adults and children, with around two million contacts with people a year.
Both are committed to looking after people in their own homes, supporting them to stay independent and reducing the need for longer term health and social care services.
David Law, Chief Executive at HCT, said: “We are delighted to have formed a partnership with HILS. We serve the same population and have similar objectives to maintain the independence of our service users and improve their quality of life.
“Making sure our elderly and most vulnerable residents receive the right nutrition and are well hydrated, are fundamental elements to ensuring their health and wellbeing are maintained. This collaborative working will help to ensure that and identify where any further support is needed.
“I look forward to building on our relationship as I believe it will present a range of opportunities in the future.”
Sarah Wren, Chief Executive for HILS, said: “As a charitable social enterprise, HILS’ caring team members are out and about across Hertfordshire 365 days a year, and we’re delighted to be working on a number of projects with HCT that will help local people stay safe and well in their homes."
