Special care dental service to move to Hemel Hempstead

Hertfordshire Community NHS Trust provides a special care dental service which runs from four locations in Hertfordshire. In March 2018, we plan to move the clinic at St Albans City Hospital to the new Marlowes Health and Wellbeing Centre at Hemel Hempstead.

Hertfordshire Community NHS Trust (HCT) and Hertfordshire Partnership University NHS Foundation Trust (HPFT) have teamed up to provide local people with this new state-of-the-art health and wellbeing centre in the centre of Hemel Hempstead. Once the Marlowes Health and Wellbeing Centre opens in March, the newly refurbished site will be home to community mental health services for adults and children provided by HPFT, along with a range of other HCT services.

The new clinic will provide an improved quality of service, including larger surgeries with ground floor access and modern equipment including digitalised x ray facilities as well much needed bariatric facilities. A range of other adult and children’s services will also be relocated to the new health facility in Hemel from existing Hemel clinic bases.

In November, we sent a survey to 1,000 patients who use the service to provide information about the proposed move to the new clinic and to provide the opportunity to give us feedback.
