For the first time, Hertfordshire Community NHS Trust (HCT) has included a category into its annual Leading Lights staff celebration event, for patients and service users to get involved.
The Trust wants to hear from the public, to nominate staff members who they feel have provided exceptional care in the community.
HCT employs over 3,000 members of staff who work in numerous services from district nursing, school nursing, health visiting and community hospitals to more specialist services such as neuro rehab, podiatry, end of life care, speech and language therapy and Rapid Response – a service designed to care for people with intensive needs in their home, keeping them out of hospital.
Alison Shelley, Director of Human Resources and Organisational Development at HCT, said: “This is a great opportunity for the public to say thank you to our staff, who often make a difference to the lives of our service users.
“Each year we have about two million appointments, visits and contacts with patients and service users – working from over 60 bases covering the county.
“If you know a member of our staff who you think should receive special recognition for the care or service they provide, please nominate them.”
Public nominations can be made online by clicking here. Alternatively you can submit a nomination in writing to Leading Lights Nominations, Hertfordshire Community NHS Trust, Howard Court, 14 Tewin Road, Welwyn Garden City, AL7 1BW.
Please ensure you provide the staff’s name, the service they work for and a brief description of why you are nominating them.
Theclosing date for nominations is Friday 1 April 2016 at 5pm. All the nominations will be reviewed by a panel of judges, including independent patient representation.
An awards ceremony celebrating the shortlisted candidates and winners will take place in summer.
