HCT vaccinator Amina Hatia in front of some of the paintings from Garden Fields School
Visitors to Hertfordshire Community NHS Trust’s Alban Arena in St Albans HCT mass vaccination centre are now met with a beautiful display of imaginative and colourful paintings, created by Year 4 pupils at local primary school, Garden Fields. The initiative was organised voluntarily by HCT vaccinator Amina Hatia whose son attends the school.
Amina said: “The vaccination programme is such an amazing thing and the team are working so hard to protect our community against this disease. I wanted to do something to bring the sunshine inside, and especially to help make a welcoming atmosphere for anyone coming in who might be a bit anxious about having the jab. The display looks fantastic, the children did such a great job!”
Mr Farrugia, Headteacher of Garden Fields School in St Albans said: “We were delighted to help bring a smile to the faces of all the NHS staff working tirelessly to get our local population vaccinated, as well as those waiting for their vaccination! It is important for our children to understand the vital work that our NHS staff are doing. We were pleased to do something to help.”
Kathryn Gardner, Vaccination Centre Manager at the Alban Arena said: “The display certainly brightens up our day and we are so thankful to the children for their amazing drawings, and to Amina for working hard to organise everything.”
