At the event, local people will be able to see plans to transform Harpenden Memorial Hospital into a more modern healthcare facility.
The event will be held at Harpenden Memorial Hospital (also known as The Red House) between 10am and 3pm where you will be able to view the plans, ask questions, provide feedback and meet the project team.
Local residents have already participated in the consultation on this redevelopment. An outline business case has approved purchasing The Stewarts building on the same site (financed by selling The Red House). It will house an array of adult and children’s services provided by Hertfordshire Community NHS Trust (HCT), Hertfordshire Partnership University NHS Foundation Trust (HPFT) and Luton and Dunstable Hospital.
Plans will be submitted to St Albans District Council in October 2017 and, if approved, the opening of the new facility will be in April 2019.
Questions can be submitted in advance via Facebook and Twitter or emailing email@example.com. In addition, questions can be posted live on the day between 10am and 3pm for a response from a member of the team. The hashtag #HCTRedHouse has been created so that Twitter posts can be replied to easily.
The multi-media meeting will be the public’s first chance to view the redevelopment plans. A short video promoting the meeting can be viewed and shared here.
