Chair Declan O'Farrell and Chief Executive Clare Hawkins
Clare’s appointment follows a national advertisement in September and a robust recruitment and selection process held yesterday which included representatives from NHS Improvement, our Local Medical Committee, staff side representatives, East and North Hertfordshire Clinical Commissioning Group and Hertfordshire County Council. The decision of the interview panel was unanimous.
Clare has been acting into the Chief Executive role since September 2017 and is well known to our partners and stakeholders. During this time, she has brought strong leadership and direction to HCT, as well as making a significant contribution to supporting the wider health and social care system in Hertfordshire and West Essex with our partner organisations. During this time, Clare has also undertaken a national role with the nursing directorate at NHS Improvement, providing advice and expertise on community nursing services across England.
We'd like to thank Clare for her contribution and commitment over the past year, and we are very pleased to welcome her into the permanent role. We are sure you will join us in congratulating her.
Speaking about her appointment, Clare said “I am thrilled to be leading HCT. We have a great opportunity to fully realise the value of community health services, and I am confident that we can achieve this with our colleagues and partners. I want to thank everyone who has supported me over the last year whilst I have been acting into the Chief Executive role, and I look forward to continuing this important work.”
