Children and Young People’s specialist services engagement event

Katy Healy (General Manager, Children & Young People’s Services) leads one of the workshops

On Tuesday 12 February the Children and Young People’s team hosted a partnership event in Watford building on a previous meeting held in November 2018.

As well as a great number of HCT staff members across many services, key external stakeholders including Hertfordshire County Council, West Herts Hospital Trust and Herts Valleys CCG were also at this important event. The voluntary sector was also present, including patient representatives and the Sickle Cell Society.

Our attendees discussed four key objectives; admission avoidance, self-management, pathway integration and Patient Centred Outcome Measures and what we would need to do to deliver these. Staff and external guests provided excellent insight with some clear and deliverable pieces of work to take forward within the wider system to transform Children’s and Young People’s Specialist Services.

The session ended on a collaborative discussion on governance arrangements to ensure the delivery of the current transformation work across Hertfordshire.
