Chief Executive

Clare joined HCT as Director of Quality and Governance in March 2011, having previously worked as Deputy Director and Director of Nursing and Quality in NHS Hertfordshire. Clare is a Registered Nurse, District Nurse and Nurse Practitioner. Clare was appointed as Chief Executive in October 2018, having been Acting Chief Executive for the previous year. She was also previously Deputy Chief Executive. 

Clare has held a number of senior NHS management posts since 1995, including posts in London and as Director of Nursing and Operations and Deputy Chief Executive for Dacorum PCT.

Clare's particular areas of interest are patient safety, patient experience and Clare is the executive lead for nurses and Allied Health Professionals on the Board.  Clare is the Board lead for safeguarding and is the Director of Infection Prevention and Control.

Clare was also seconded to the nursing directorate at NHS Improvement for a day a week from January 2017 to October 2018, providing community services advice and expertise to the national team.
